Women marry because they are bored; men because they are tired. Both come away disappointed.
- I've paraphrased the Oscar Wilde
I'm getting a bit tired.
I'm tired of running and living my vagabond lifestyle....but does that mean that I actually want to settle down?
Sometimes the single/unmarried life simply grows a bit tiresome....but that doesn't mean that getting actually married is the answer.
I learned that mistake the hard way once before....fool me once shame on you....fool me twice.....
At any rate, know this....if you marry the average woman...you are now the sole man responsible for pumping her emotional breaks and giving her the drama women in this age of instant gratification will need.
The girl of wild parties...you think she wants to fucking take kids to soccer camp?
The man who's been with *5 some odd women like me....you think he will only bang one woman from now until his deathbed?
I think both parties often come in with no matter how hard they try unrealistic expectations.
That being said, I am in a phase where I have grown weary of simply dating for a year or so then ending it and starting anon. From a point of cost benefit I've begun to consider actually doing some real meaningful investing with my current girlfriend. It's a strange feeling for me as it's the sort of tacit acceptance that we as far as we know are seeing this as the gateway to a permanent union of sorts.....but when I get so far ahead I'm really reaching...so I reel it back in decide to invest with some expectation because I don't believe in wanton investment/potential waste...but I am allowing myself to plan the future with her.
It's refreshing if not terrifying at times.
At any rate, good luck and happy hunting,
- Yrs. in Christ
