Marriage is agreeing to try and make someone happy that does not know how to be happy.
That's pretty much it.
You get married thinking all this business will fade.
You are a fool.
The institution, like slavery, changes both slave and slaveholder alike to paraphrase Frederick Douglas.
She'll complain when she works less hours b/c she doesn't feel productive.
She'll complain when she works more hours b/c she's tired.
She'll complain when she works more hours than you b/c you're not working as hard as you could.
She'll complain when you work more hours than her and you're tired and don't want to do much when you get off other than get high and sleep.
Notice a trend?
The best thing you can do is walk into it knowing it's like getting a vaccine or a fistfight in the street, you have to experience it to be able to chime in on it later with your perspective (hint: that it sucks).
But it is a costly and emotionally draining lesson to be sure.

Have to disagree with your first paragraph, brother. It's about forming a team. Her happiness remains her own responsibility. She'll be happy, or she won't, regardless of anything you do.
