Some guy is dancing on a pole nearby.

The lights flash and pop rap plays. Occasionally some dub step.

She's cute.
Lip ring and all.

I don't normally dig blondes, but she's cute. Fresh-faced.
A pretty smile detracted by the **** ring, but whatever, the needs of the many.
And again, there is that faint trace of naivete hidden behind a girl slightly smarter than her age might suggest.

We don't dance, rather, I drape her leg across mine and rest my hand not holding a drink on her thigh.
My frame becomes pretty much concrete.
She asks about my life philosophy.
Unsurprisingly, it appeals to the wild child in her.
The way that I balance the two halves of my ways also attracts her.

I see that clear, honest, excitement in her eyes you don't often see twinkle nor sparkle in a girl over 22 or 26.....depending on the girl and how hard she's been riding "life".
Life and disappointment and the real world will dull that luster.

As it is, we kiss. She is relatively shy, but she whispers in my ear how glad she is we met, that I'm in this ************** as fuck club/bar with her, and asking where I'm staying for the night.

I don't have a set plan to be honest, I tell her. My buddy ******** and I are down for whatever.
I think you guys should stay with us she says and grins with a cheshire cat smile.
That sounds like a good idea I reply.

Haters watch me leave with the youngest, freshest face there.
We leave.
We climb under the covers.
What we've both been waiting for begins and ends and stretches late on into the already nearly extinguished night.

There is no insomnia, only the pleasant respite from the maelstrom of vice in the form of deep, catatonic sleep.
I awake and for the first time in ages....I can only smile and shake my head.

The sun is out...so I know he's hiding deep inside.
But I know that he's enjoying the show and welcoming me back to the game.
