Night Sky

Sdtrk

I'm looking out over the city's skyline.
I've been doing this each morning and every night that I've been here.
The beep beep of motorcycles/cars before the careen through the intersection comes continually.

The building are tall. They dwarf the small, barred windows of what passes for the homes of the poor.
It's warm but finally the heat of day gives way to the illicit lure of night.
A 3 legged dog hops along down the road.
A stray cat passes later on.
I sip my **** beer.

The cab is on its way.
Had my interview.
I pause and consider if I can see myself living here.
Far from my homeland.
Far from virtually everything.

For once, I note that I'll actually probably BE as alone as I FEEL.
A man apart.
Colossal and jagged.
The cab pulls up downstairs outside the high wall.
I wave to him with a shout.
I grab my shirt, lock the door, and step into the night.
I have an address written on a sheet of paper to hand the cab driver b/c I'm still struggling with the language.

I've started drinking again. At least for the duration of the trip. Some nights I drink, some I don't. It comes and it goes.

  1. I'm curious, where in the hell are you? Or is that something you plan on revealing in a future post, if at all?
